Well the turtle beach uses batteries and standard audio, the other is powered by the unit which plugs into the wall, and has optical sound the only way to get true dolby 5.1.

So the second one for sure, even if its pricier, which it must be, you will save 100's on batteries in the first year, and 5.1 is the way to go, plus headphones with 4 speakers in each earpiece, damn dude im getting these.

Alright, thanks guys that helped a ton. Except i think the only problem with the tritton headphones is that you wont be able to hear yourself when you play, unlike the turtle beach pair where you can hear yourself in the headphones. They're both the same price too i think.

I work for Turtle Beach which of course makes my comments biased but the X3 has some great features that you may not know about.

Dynamic Talkback Level Control - automatically adjusts Xbox® Live chat levels during loud moments, so chat from teammates isn't lost in the exciting parts of your game.

Microphone Monitoring - Just like a telephone, the X3 mixes a portion of the microphone signal into the headphone signal, so you can hear some of your voice along with the online chatting and game audio.

Automatic Power Shut-off - When you're done playing, just put them down and they'll automatically shut off after a few minutes of silence. I hope that this information helps with you decision.

I have a tritton 5.1 set and personally I dislike it. I have found the positional sounds to work very well but overall on my 360 the sounds are just off. With no treble/ bass adjustment it just doesn't sound correct. To top it off the headset feels loose on my head adn if if I turn fast will slide around. The spring feeling that squeezes your head is very weak. I think that on my pc with some ability to tune the treble and the bass to my liking this set would work very well though. I have yet to try it though.
