Help a new 360 owner out...

As the title suggests, I'll be getting a 360 very soon and I want to know what you guys think are games that I need to get. The only genres that I don't like are sports and racing games. FPSes and RPGs are probably my favorites. So, I plan on getting Bioshock, Gears of War, and GH3 ASAP after I get the system. What "less popular" games should I get and what popular games didn't live up to the hype?

Gears of War is a good choice. Bioshock is very short though, and nothing left to do when completed. Unless you have allot of cash I suggest you spend your money on an other game and just rent Bioshock. Since you are into RPG you should get Oblivion instead of Bioshock.

In November, get Mass Effect and COD4. Perhaps also Assassin's Creed.

You should DEFINITELY get Halo 3. Also look foward to Assasin's creed and mass effect coming out. COD 4 looks awesome u might wanna get that too. Get Bioshock, i have it , its great. Dont get Oblivion. The reason i say this is because I have been a fan of rpgs for 10 years, and Oblivion was boring as hell to me. But its up to you. Gears of War is awesome also, but it gets old kinda quickly and there are better games to play like Halo 3. If your gonna get Gears of War, wait for the PC version. There are also a buncha great games out there that i cant think of right now, but great choice getting the 360.

Get oblivion. It's like only $20-30 now NEW. Maybe COD2 or3? Maybe some old xbox games like Ninja Gaiden Black. I agree, rent bioshock. Get orange box (unless you got it for PC). Maybe pick up GRAW (it's good and cheap). Rainbow Six Vegas. MAYBE Viva Pinata.

Geometry Wars. Alien Homonid. Puzzle Quest. (those three are arcade games)

My personal opinion would be to replace Gears with Halo 3.Lordcharles

I agree, while gears is bad ass, i dont think it has a replay value like Halo 3 has. Plus, 8on8 on live and 4 player coop in the campaign. What more could u ask for? Although a chainsaw in halo 3 would complete my life:)

Bioshock does offer different endings. Also with the creepy atmosphere, high production values and fantastic gameplay I felt it was a good value on launch day.

Halo 3 is a great game. Hands down.

Download the COD4 beta first off of the marketplace to see if you like it.

Lost Planet was a fun FPS and you can prolly find a cheap used copy by now... MOH Airborne was enjoyable but not a must have.

As of now Oblivion is the only RPG worth a **** on the 360 unless you like high schoo JRPG's. Mass effect is going to be epic.

One fun game I'd reccomend despite not liking sports games is rockstars table tennis. It's a great social setting game. mixes excellently with a beer or two. lol and by now it should be cheap used.

If you spend countless hours looking around it's long, sure. But that would go for any game. If you play it normally it's short. It's longer then Halo 3 or Gears, sure, but only a tad. And it's only a singleplayer game. I believe it can't be worth 60 bucks to play a game for 12 hours and then left with nothing to do. It's definitely a rent.

I myself am a new owner of the Xbox 360. i had a debate over the game i should get to but the one i chose was Gears of war. Great game And great online. Also of course Halo 3 and also look out for Assigns Creed. it looks like a great game and yes i know i spelt it wrong but i just dont want to think about how to spell it haha. good luck and i would also get online asap. i dont have it but i wish i did. have fun.

for the fps id git halo 3, gears has good graphics but it gits boring after the first time

and for the rpg id wait and git mass effect
