The thought of purchasing a 360 has crossed my mind many a times, but everything seems to be available on PC.

I just can't seem to convince myself that Halo + Gears + Fables (Braids and Ikaruga for downloadable games) alone is worth the purchase...am I missing something here?

Yeah, if you have a decent gaming PC, there's no reason to get a console.

I find the online community can be both 10x better and worse on an xbox... i advise you get what your friends have or test out what your friends have

if you only like halo then get an original xbox cuz halo 2 is much better than 3 (leaving graphics aside) and gears of warn is definatly not worth it when i can play doom for less and get better value for money

I needed an excuse b/c i've been dying to play Gears of War 1/2 and halo 3 since they came out. It finally came at a going out of business sale at Circuit City... 20% off the system (320$ elite) so I folded and finally got it. I have a ps3 and a wii and right now I favor the 360... online is faster than the ps3 and the community for GoW2 and Halo is just as big if not bigger than my other fav FPS CoD4MW on ps3, so I am happy with my purchase.

Well then what the hell man. If you have a decent PC and don't get a console. Besides, you are in a xbox360 board. People would just try to convince you to buy it or something like that. Just don't buy the 360. Play stuffs on your PC and it's all good.

I was just tired of sitting at a computer and using a mouse and keyboard. I never realized how much a difference gaming on my couch or in my bed would make. I enjoy games more plus I like the HD aspect of it.

It's true that console somehow got that cool side in it since I own a 360 myself but this guy does not own a 360 right now. I don't think it would be wise to buy one right now. Maybe he can just go to his friend's house and play the 360.

Once I was in the same situation as you dude. I had a decent PC and I wanted an Xbox strictly for exlcusives. So, I bought an Xbox and various Xbox exclusives and enjoyed it. Well, my cousin and some other friends got it, so I mainly played my Xbox as a main gaming console. Well, now to be honest, if you favourite cousin didn't play my Xbox, I'd be back to PC gaming, because as nerdy or a waste as it sounds, I have CoD4, CoD:WaW and Left 4 Dead all on PC and Xbox 360. And quite honestly they're all better on PC.

So unless you have a burning urge to play an exclusive on the Xbox, stick to PC, plus you don't need to pay to play online with PC, whereas on Xbox its $59.99/month. I'm sure you know that you can upgrade your PC as you wish and the console, well what can you do? Overall judgement: Stick to PC and if you really must play an Xbox, just buy the exlusives. It will save you money in the long run.

Once you go 360, you'll never go back. Why do you think people still buy them after they red ring.

Forza 2, Lost Odyssey, working GTA IV, Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vesperia, Halo 3, Gears of War 2, Braid, Castle Crashers, Fable II, Banjo Kazooie, Viva Pinata, Ninja Gaiden 2, Mass Effect 2, Halo ODST, Halo Wars and plenty others are a few titles to be looking out for. If you've got a PS3 and a high end PC then there isn't really that much of a need to get it.

If you need an excuse to buy one, you probably shouldn't. You either know you want to buy one or you don't.

LMAO If the PS3 had some game's, you'd be too busy to come here and whine about the 360.

360 is 1,000,000,000 times (thats an official price comparison... fo rizzle) cheaper than keeping your PC up to spec and it has a lot more than just Gears, Halo and Fable.

Lot's of people are stupid enough to buy a PS3 and that's only got MGS and LBP... makes a lot more sense to have a 360 IMO.

Sorry we don't have to convince you. Look at the games list, if nothing appeals to you then don't get it.

Or else take it to system wars.

Yeah my pc is pretty high-end and can run pretty much anything at high settings. I think I'll hold off for now and who knows, maybe there will be another price drop somewhere in the future (fingers crossed)

I'm not looking to flame on the 360 or anything, I really want to buy one once there's enough exclusives to make the purchase worthwhile. At the moment I only considering Halo, Gears, Fable, and several downloadable games as arguements for the buy.

Thanks all for the input.

Your opinion hardly matters to me, judging from your inability to construct a proper sentence. The 360 and the PS3 are pretty much neck in neck in terms of AAA exclusives, with PS3 possibly edging out in the department SLIGHTLY (Resistance, MGS, LBP, Uncharted, Ratchet andClank, upcoming KZ2).

Take your fanboy mumble-jumble somewhere else.

I used to be huge into PC gaming, thinking I'd never own a console for various reasons. I ended up buying a 360 and found that my gaming preferences have grown immensely as a result, trying and LIKING all sorts of games I otherwise never would have thought of playing.

Plus, I use it extensively for streaming Netflix (i realize you can do it on PC as well), which my partner thoroughly enjoys as well.
It's also nice to play in the living room on my enormous plasma, spread out on the comfy couch, rather than cooped up in one of the side rooms all by myself in front of the computer.

Besides, getting a 360 is cheap enough that it can't hurt, and you can always resell it and make a good portion of it back =-)

LOL, have you tried to resell a 360? I have an elite I'd love to recoop atleast 50% of my loss but its not gonna happen so it sits and collects dust.

TC do yourself a favor and get a 360 gamepad for your PC (if you don't already have one) and pretend your playing on a 360 and never worry about RROD or drive failures.

Sorry, 59.99/YEAR. Do note, I am not hating on the Xbox 360, I love it just as much as my decent PC.

the idea is that upgrading your pc to a system that can play games the way the 360 or ps3 plays games will cost a lot more than $199. for me, i have to upgrade my mobo, cpu and graphics card. my old desktop has an ati x850 xt agp card, and it just doesn't run the latest games. i got a used 360 elite with hdd for $175. i don't think u can do better than that.

And with the system comparison, this thread is now off-topic and belongs in System Wars.
