help, im an achievement addict, it has taken half of my life and i want to stop, but i cant because it's so additive like crack. you guys got any tips?stevoqwertyTurn the achievements message option off. :D
The best way would be to probably stop caring about achievements - I certainly never cared for them, and hence never got addicted to them. I pick them up when theyre convenient, but I don't go out of the way for massive achievements.
Alternatively: Buy games where you get achievements simply for playing the game (oblivion and enchanted arms are two good ones) - rather than being forced to aim for ridiculous achievements (Gears 2 - Im looking at you ;) )

Achievements aren't like crack. Imagine how impressed (and by impressed I mean unimpressed) your girlfriend would be if you showed her proudly how many achievement points you had for each game.
I'm not trying to be insulting, I just mean that achievement points don't make you a better person in life, it's just a cool thing in your spare time is all.
Try playing another console that doesn't have Achievements for a while, I dunno. Maybe MS should have made Achievements optional.Floppy_Jimthat would get my vote; play a game on another system for a while and it'll break the achievement habit while still being able to play games.
