stop of course stevoqwerty

you should probably download some xbox originals. youll realize alot of games without achievements are kickass and youll start thinking about gamer value and not as much about achievements (in theory)

Try playing another console that doesn't have Achievements for a while, I dunno. Maybe MS should have made Achievements optional.

Hide your 360 for a couple of weeks, try to find something else to fill your time and then bring it back out. That's what I did when I got addicted to my 360. I still play alot but not as much as before.

The best way would be to probably stop caring about achievements - I certainly never cared for them, and hence never got addicted to them. I pick them up when theyre convenient, but I don't go out of the way for massive achievements.

Alternatively: Buy games where you get achievements simply for playing the game (oblivion and enchanted arms are two good ones) - rather than being forced to aim for ridiculous achievements (Gears 2 - Im looking at you ;) )

It's probably just a phase; you'll get over it once your Gamerscore gets higher, or you'll just get sick of it. Once it goes away, it may come back, and it may not. Are you a teenager, or an adult? Regardless, you should try setting your priorities right and focus on other things.

Achievements aren't like crack. Imagine how impressed (and by impressed I mean unimpressed) your girlfriend would be if you showed her proudly how many achievement points you had for each game.

I'm not trying to be insulting, I just mean that achievement points don't make you a better person in life, it's just a cool thing in your spare time is all.

that would get my vote; play a game on another system for a while and it'll break the achievement habit while still being able to play games.
