So if I buy an arcade I wont be able to play original xbox games because there no hard drive right? But If i bought a hard drive and attached it to it... then it will then be able to play halo and halo2 etc right?

Also if I reallly dont plan on going online for a little while will the memory that comes with the arcade be enough for the 360 game saves? because if that is true then I will update to a hard drive when it comes time that I want to play live....

thanks for you answers :)

If you add a hard drive then the Arcade can do everything any other 360 can.

That's correct. The small application that allows backward compatability installs to the Hard Drive.

You really do want a hard drive anyway though. There are additional levels and add on packs for games that you can get on XBL that you may want for certain games - even if you're not into downloading videos or game demos. Also here is a link that you can buy the 20gb for $35 - so really for $235 you can have a fully functional 360. That's the Arcade for $200 + $35 for the Hard Drive.

Did you read the original post? He is asking about playing Backward compatible games - which does in fact require a hard drive.

Exactly - I'm surprised more people aren't doing this because once the 20gb drives are gone - they're gone. It's an easy and affordable solution to get the same system that used to be the Pro (before the pro upgraded to 60gb). :)

Yes it's refurbished - M$ just flooded the market with these awhile back to help people without the HDD to be able to get the NXE (for LIVE) update for cheap. I wouldn't worry about it being a refurb - that means M$ has rebuilt it and it should be fine. Also it should still have some type of warranty associated with it - usually 90 days on refurbished items. It's so inexpensive though I really wouldn't worry about it being a refurb - it's an official refurb so it should be fine. :)

If I have internet at home, then my foolish not will want to go online? I always thought it was getting tired of INA, that single player game.
