Buying a core or premium system has nothing to do with the way you play; online or off. The premium comes with a hard drive, and if you plan on saving your game progress, get the premium.
You'll need a 64mb memory card to save your games which I believe goes for 39 American dollars and if your going HD you'll need to buy HD cables thats basically why people say get the premium since it comes with a 20Gb hard drive and HD cables for only 100 dollars more almost forget about the free 5 dollar arcade game Hexic
The core system is just to get you started if you don't actually have the extra hundred dollars or so, the problem there isn't really a deal there.
By the time you pick up the hard drive and a wireless controller (both included in the premium) you haven't saved any money, but have actually spent more, and if you were like me and had to get a memory card to get yourself started.Â
Bottom line the premium system is where the deal is, and if you have a fancy HD TV you may want to think about the elite version since it has outputs for the higher end HD displays.
