OK, my xbox360 is breaking. The disk drive makes weird noises and none of my games read. the only problem is that this happens on and off. so i have to decide what i should to do; should i send my xbox in,pay 100 dollars, and risk sending them a none broken xbox (because it only not works some of the time) and possibly waste 100 dollars.should i shell out 200$ for an arcade 360? Or should i purposely RRoD it and get it fixed free. please i need some help, I'm not sure what to do....

Sounds like your DVD drive is going out. Buy a new disc drive off ebay or something and replace it yourself. It's easy, just look online for instructions.

You could call them up and report to them you got the red ring of death and send it off and get a new one for free. Worked for me, and at the very worst, you'd get it fixed and get it shipped back or get a new one and it would only cost you $100 bucks.

yeah, just tell everyone this to void their warranty... idiot

Turn on your xbox, remove the hard drive and fiddle with it til it freezes, next step call microsoft.

That warranty is good 3 years from the day of purchase, so assuming you haven't had your 360 since launch day you should be alright.

They should have added a 1 year extension with the first RRoD instance.
