I have a computer running Windows XP Professional with service pack 2. I went to xbox.com/pcsetup like my xbox told me. I downloaded the Zune software like it said on the site. I tried running the zune software, and all it showed was a screen that says "Welcome to the social", were glad ur here, blah blah blah and no "next" button. Only Cancel.

http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/13/installing-the-zune-sucked/

Im stuck on the 3rd screen of that installation (the one after the one that says ZUNE in huge letters).

1. How do I get past this problem. I have had problems installing "Genuine software" from MS before, so could it be my Operating system? Or is it a bug in the software?

2. Could downloading one withough genuine check "secretly" built in help me? Ive already tried this, but do you guys know if there is a good link to a Zune Software download that works for my situation?

3. Is there any way of connecting your 360 to PC to share files without having to use Zune software? Personally I think MS is forcing useless software down my throat, but thats the way it is...unless you say so...

There are 2 ways you can do it. You can stream video and music through windows media center. (just need an ethernet cord) The other way is to get an Xbox 360 Action Replay. Then you can backup savegames, look for saved games on the internet. along with media.

...that site isn't about xbox-pc connectivity. That article is just flaming the zune software. It's not an installation guide...

Thanks, Im about to try that.

And poster above that, I just posted that site to show where I was stuck! I wasnt implying anything negative. I want to hok up my 360 now and its 1:30 in the morning, Im not going out to buy something. Besides, in case you didnt notice, AR is only for xbox. XDATA is for 360...and its hard to find, plus im sure it voids your warranty. I want to do it the right way...with XP!

Why do I have to pay an extra $200+ for an OS, if it's possible to do it on the OS I already have...
