I have been studying my azz off on here for months and decided I am getting the 360.  Couple simple questions I have are.

I know the 360 now comes with a year warranty but what are the details of this.  Does it matter where I buy my 360.(i.e. do some stores exchange your 360 for a new one in the store instead of shipping it out if it takes a dump)

Walmart  seems to be the only store offering a free older game with the premium console.  Is it ok to buy from Walmart or better to get one from a Circuit City (in regards to return policies)

I plan on postitioning mine horizontal. Will it cool ok or should I put something to give it some space underneath like some people have posted.  And whats with the power brick. Is there a way I should ventilate this by not sitting it on the floor.

Well i am getting one Within the next 3 weeks..............

I think it's better to go horitzontal because it has less chance of falling over and been broken. Just have it horitzontal!

The 1 year warranty is from Microsoft...so if your console breaks, you don't bring it to the store, you call 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

If Walmart has a free game with the system then get it there. It doesn't matter if you have it horizontal or vertical. People will go on and on how one is better then the other but in the end it doesn't matter. The power brick will be fine on the floor, just don't cover it with anything.

It was worldwide 3 month warranty, then microsoft started getting calls from (american) lawyers. They changed it to a year in light of the frequent breakdowns and threats of legal action (which would have been quite expensive as european law requires consumer electronics to carry a 1 year warranty from invoice date). The 1 year warranty now applies all over the world, even for launch owners, as far as I know, but I may be wrong on that.
