Help! Scren resolution

My screen has gone completely black when I was selecting the resolution I chose 1080p How do I get my screen back?

Connect to a standard def TV and change back the settings. Your TV clearly doesn't support 1080p.

Any help? I need to get this fixed I hightened the resolution to 1080p from 480p I switched tv's still no difference. Any help?

try flicking the little switch on the AV connector closest to the xbox.

Are you using HDMI? Try plugging in the component cable instead and flip the switch on it to standard def (or whatever the wording is). This should bring it down to 480p... Then you should be able to mess with the settings again.

Okay so It works on the standard television how do I change my resolutions now so I can see the picture on the HDTV?
