the only way to get a parent account is to make a new gamertag. there is no way to fix it otherwise.
if you sign-up for Live when you were under 18, I believe it automatically did a child account.Â
Crap that's the last thing i wanted to hear. So does that mean i have to get a new subscription to xbox-live or can i just change my subscription from the tag i have now to a new one?RollingZeppelin
I would also like to know this.
Also does anyone know how to put your 360 in the low power mode that automatically turns off when its finished downloading? I can't figure out how to do it.

going from a huge topic from yesterday, it looks like you have to buy another subscription to Live with your new gamertag. I don't know how you would be able to "transfer" your subscription to another gamertag. You could call Microsoft on it. I am sure they would be able to tell you if you can or not.Â

I haven't updated my 360 yet, so I can't tell you exactly where to go, but it could be on the "system" blade. That would be my first guess(and logic choice).Â
bump
And ya in the system panel you go to console settings and then go to shutdown, on my 360 the low power mode thingy was off so just turn it on. If your downloading something and you turn your console off it should automatically go into low power mode.

don't think it's possible, but I would call Microsoft just to get the answer from the horse's mouth.Â
Man this sucks. I dont want to have to go through all this trouble just to get a new feature. Im so mad.RollingZeppelin
Call Microsoft and voice your complaint. That's the only way to get changes made.Â
Alright, im going to email them first. If that doesnt work i call the support #. DAMN
THX for the help anyways.Â
under the age 18 is a child, or atleast in ms's point of view. I'm only 16 and when i applied for my new account last summer i pulled by birth year back to 1988. Their is no way you can change your age on your account, ms isn't that stupid****
Dude I am 19 and it will not let me use it at all.
Ya the dumb thing is that i AM 18. Therefore this should not be happening to me anyways. Its also dumb that you have to be an adult to use this feature. The majority of people on Live Messenger for the PC are under 18. WTF?RollingZeppelin
Yea I no. THIS SUCKS!!!Â
maybe someone will make some big online petition to make messenger available for under 18's, or microsoft will receive so many complaints they will have to release an update changing it.pilko69
They are coming out with an update to fixs that. But Microsoft did not say when this update will come out.
