Help! Ive borrowed my friends copy of Oblivion GOTY, and my xbox has scratched his disc, making it unplayable. Obviously, he WILL murder me when he finds out. But, there are lots of normal (by that I mean not the GOTY edition) Oblivion on eBay for around a tenner. I will buy one of these as a replacement, as his second disc is fine. (the second disc is only used to install the shivering isles and knights of the nine.) So if I buy one normal oblivion and put it in my xbox, will it be able to load the saves I made on the GOTY edition, so I can continue with my quests, or will my xbox read it as a totally different game? (making me start from scratch.) Please Help Me!

You can gets discs resurfaced as he says, but it depends how deep the scratch is. Disc resurfacing increases the chance that it will work, but does not guarantee it.

As for buying a regular edition disc - won't it be a different colour? The regular edition is a light beige/faded yellow colour, while the GOTY was a dark brown colour? Hmm... might need to explain what happened to him as well!!

Usually if you have the case you can get it replaced a t Gamestop but you have to find one with lazy enough employees so they won't ask for the receipt.

Smear Peanut Butter on the disc and wipe it off. I never thought it would work but it has worked twice for me on scratched discs. Wipe it off with a tissue or toilet paper.

As I live in Manchester, this will not be a problem.
