Okay so I THINK my TV is HD because it has the blue, green, and orangish plugs in the back along with the usual red, white, and yellow. Well I plug all the 360 cords in (except the yellow, I just plugged in the HD and sound ones) and when I switch it to HD mode nothing shows up except when I switch channels and it shows the screen split four ways! help would be lovely!

Lots of TVs now offer component inputs, but can't output 480P. Its still the clearest option available on a SDTV.

What kind of TV is it? It might just have plugs thst have the same colour but it's' not a HD TV.

Also have you tried what it looks like when you switch switch on the cable back to SD?

1. its a flat screen but the thing is, unlike other SD's, it doesnt say "SD" on the front nor does it say "HD" so im pretty confused.

2. yes, I have been playing it on regular picture but I wanted to get the best possible picture

The 360 HDTV cable, on the part where you plug it into the 360, has a switch that you have to specify whether it plays SD or HD. If it's not set to HD, this could happen. If it is set to HD, turn off your 360, set it to Standard (leaving the HD cables in). If it works, it could be that your TV isn't actually 'HD'.

Also, check again that you didn't put the blue in the green or the green in the blue. They can look similiar, especially in darker areas. So check and make sure.

If it doesn't say HD on it, it's probably not an HDTV. Earlier SDTVs never said SD because they didn't even have HD out. I'm pretty sure when you buy a TV and it's HD....you should just know it. It being a flat screen means jack too.
