My TV is a 26 inch Sanyo Flat Screen (not LCD). It's an SD TV but yet it has Component ports on the back next to the regular red, yellow, white ports. Does that mean I can get HD picture? My Xbox 360 has those Component cables and I plug them in yet none of the HD settings seem to work on the tests. (Except 480 but it wont let me test it)

Your TV only supports 480P which is slightly better than 480i which is standered picture. The TV may have the slots for it, but it doesn't support it.

If it is not an HD tv, then you won't get HD quality picture. The only SD setting on the 360 is 480p.
