I am hoping someone has maybe experience this problem and figured out what was wrong or fixed it.

My xboxs live keeps disconnecting every 10 to 15 minutes (sometimes even less). As soon as it disconnects I can go to the dashboard and reconnect without a problem. I have been trying to play Battlefield 2 and Medal of Honor, so everytime this happens I get kicked out of the online match.

I have Verizon Fios as my internet connection. I have an xbox elite. My xbox is conntected directly to the verizon router. I intially thought it was the cable itself, but I bought a new ethernet cable and I am still having the same problem.

As you can imagine, contacting Xbox live tech support and Verizon tech support was an utter waste of my time. in fact, 2 out of the 4 people I spoke to at Verizon seemed to think I was doing something illegal! Fellow gamers, please help!

I'm glad we share a common plight, sir. Everyone hypes up Verizon FiOS as one of the best Internet services, but they never see the problems it has. I'm unsure as to how to fix your problem, but I disconnect occasionally too. Is this a new problem? Or has it happened before?

I have been having this problem as well. I don't know why but after a couple of times I just gave up and turned off my 360.

It started a few weeks ago, and has not stopped since.

I have found some forums that suggest to make sure yout NAT type is open and static; I have done both and that did not fix the issue.

I have found in forums that suggest to put the IP address for the xbox as the DMZ host and to make sure it is linked with port forwarding. I have done this and it did not fix the issue.

Its possible that I am doing both of these fixes incorrectly, but I don't know.

It just sucks because I can not play a full match of battlefied 2 or medal of honor; I can't even play a full game against my friend in NCAA 11. This has almost been like a ritutal that we play a matchup every saturday before the games and we can't do this anymore

call Verizon and tell them the deal.. have a technician come and check on the cables and all that jazz.. a while back my internet was acting funky.. so i called my ISP and a technician came and solved the problem easily... it was a weak cable or something that made my signal awful

reset ur modem by powering it off, waiting 30seconds, then powering back on. once back on then start up console. come back after and tell me if this doesnt fix it. next try a new modem. i had to replace my ****** recently because it started doing exactly the same thing.

Sounds like a router issue. Do a reboot, and if that fails, check the settings.

I've had this issue before. There are several things you should try out. It is very annoying to be disconnected even every 30 mins. But alas.

Try port forwarding. Its a feature of your router, which allows xbox live to bypass pretty much all security of your router. I mean who wants to hack into your xbox? A simple google search for port forwarding xbox live will give you a step by step instruction as to how to set it up. Also try moving your xbox ip to the DMZ. That might help.

I had the same issue like I said before. What ended up happening was that I had to call tech support several times. They had a tech come out like twice. The 2nd time he came he tested for "noise". After testing he found that there was a lot of noise coming in. Which wasn't something he could fix and wasn't my fault or in my house. It was coming for the feed straight from comcast aka the green box that protrudes in some peoples backyards and have no idea what they're for. Some other guy came by and opened that up and switched out wires and what not. After that I haven't had a problem. Another symptom of this was that my digital tv was constantly pixelating.. Then again it could just be that your cables are **** or need to be tightened. If you have a splitter somewhere, check it. Check your cable outlet on your wall, i might be loose. Check your cable wire for any pinches or tears in the plastic. If you have cats, dogs, or other critters. they love to chew on the wire. Hope this helps!!

I had a similar issue a couple of years back - turned out to be the router. Not any setting in particular, it had just reached the end of its lifespan, was overheating, and each time that happened it would seize, reboot itself and every device connected would lose their signal for five or ten seconds before it all came back on again. Just long enough to be really annoying, especially in those games that kick you back to the main menu when you get logged out (PGR4, at the time, was the worst for this).

had the same thing last week then Halo Reach connection said I had moderate NAT setting ( even though I have not touched any settings and its been OPEN before ) Then BF:BC2 kept booting from party and game. This would normally suggest a modem/router problem. However its been working fine since last weekend so im assuming after that and everyone else experiancing problems I would put it down to LIVE problem.

In my case, my connection my PC is fine and does not do this. It is only the 360, so this is what makes me think its not the router, of course I could be wrong because I don't know a whole lot on how routers from verizon.

I am going to call them again and see if 5 times is a charm!

Wow, on the 5th call to verizon I actually spoke to someone who knew how to fix this problem.

3 things needed to be done to fix this

1.) Set the IP of your xbox as a DMZ host

2.) Set Nat to open

3.) Use portfowarding to open TCP port 88 and 3074and UDP port 3074 --> I do nothave a cluewhat this does or means but after I did this, it worked, no disconnection!!!)

I hope this helps anyone else have this same problem.

Very annoying, I'm still dealing with this problem. I might as well just give up on trying to play multiplayer
