Help..how do i get sound with my HDMI

I have an elite and im trying to hook it up to my samsung 226bw monitor through hdmi(w/dvi adapter). The only thing is i cant get sound. I tried using that hdmi audio adapter that came w/ the elite and plugged it into the computer...but i didnt get any sound. Any suggestions?

u've gotta connect ur component cable in as well so u get sound. Thats the short coming of using a dvi/hdmi adapter. Both didnt fit for me, so i had to cut some of the plastic off my hdmi cable so i could squeeze both in.

Use the xbox thing that has the Red/White female output and the fibre optic output. Get a simple red/white component cable. Then you'll need to find a red/white to RCA adaptor (I got one with my VGA xbox cable). Plut the red/white into the RCA adapter, it now works with computer audio.

yea i tried that but it didnt work. Did u have any problems with that at first?
