help!!!need help hooking up xboxlive.

i hooked up my wired adapter to my modem and xbox but it can't get the ip address.i got the ip address aledy but i need the subnet mask and gateway do any of u no how 2 find it on the computer?please help i really want xboxlive really bad.thank you.

um... open up a run command in windows (with your computer connected to the modem) by pressing 'Windows Key' + 'R' and then type in 'cmd' and press enter. Type in 'ipconfig' into the command prompt and press enter. That should bring up the subnet mask and gateway info you need.

With that said, is your 360 asking you for that info? When I connected my system to XBL, it didn't ask any of that from me. I just plugged it in and it did everything automatically for me. :?

k...go to start menu -> then to Run -> type in CMD -> it'll bring up command prompt, now type in IPCONFIG and it'll list your ip/subnet/gateway for you. Oh and the pc u do this on has to be connected to the same router as ur 360 of course :P

PS: i hope these directions are ok, i switched to Mac years ago and am a little rusty :S
