I recently bought a copy of Dragon Age Origins on the Xbox 360 from Wal-Mart. I was almost 100% that I would love this game, I've enjoyed most of Bioware's other games and I read and watched numerous Dragon Age Origins reviews from websites all over t he internet including Gamespot's review on here. They all said that the PC version was a little better, but the 360/PS3 versions are not quite as good but still a great game. So I decided to buy it. I did and I have to say that it's a pile of steaming crap. First of all the visuals are majorly outdated. Games from like 2006 right after the 360 was released have far better visuals than this pitiful port of a game. At one point I saw some trees and some logs that looked like PS1 stle cardboard cut-outs. The characters animations are shoddy, and your main character never even speaks. For all I know he or she doesn't even have a voice. The combat is boring and lame, this is really ridiculous. I feel like I've been robbed and bamboozled. If anyone even recommends you this game on the 360 or PS3 don't believe it. This game is absolute trash, and should not have even recieved anything higher than a 5 out of 10 on any review site under any circumstances. The worst part of this entire deal is the fact that I paid $60 for it from Wal-Mart, and their return policy is that once it's been opened it can't be returned. So I'm just out 60 smackers which is kind of a big deal this day in age. Anyone have anyway to get around this policy?

Thank you for your opinion and I'm sorry that the game didn't work out for you. I think you'll find that you're amongst the minority when it comes to just how great this game really is. Maybe someday you will pick it up again and enjoy it better the second time around.

On a side note, most of your dislikes about the game were it's graphics. That's kind of sad considering it such a huge game with so much to do, so much to explore, so many different ways to tackle quest, and so many different ways to treat your party to see what happens next. This game has so much indepth story that its sad that you couldn't even get past the fact that it doesn't try to shine in terms of graphics, but in terms of gameplay, story elements, and characters it was one of the best games of 2009.

disliking a game because of its graphics...? You have some problems. If it bugs you that much, just get a PC gaming rig.

i thought it was a great game as well. maybe not the "prettiest" graphics in the world, but i thought they were decent enough, good story, tons of dialogue!!! and the combat was fun for me, gets better the further you get in to

well you should have done more research before buying. you picked the platform with the worst graphics for this game and an inferior combat system. i played it on the PC. it's one of my favorites game and it looks good enough IMO, sometimes it even looks pretty good with the PC top view.

I agree with you 100%. I wrote a pretty scathing review of it a few weeks ago (based on over 60 hours of playtime) and I was not impressed with any aspect of the game. Not the graphics, not the combat, not the story. Everything about the game falls flat of expectations and is of low quality.

Anyway, my suggestion is to put the game on eBay. For a like-new copy you can probably snag a good 50 bucks for it. Or sell it through glyde.com. It's incredibly simple, just go to the website and check it out.

Actually, he's in the majority.. Seeing as how the game sold maybe 3-4 million across all platforms maybe? And there are millions more of us gamers out there that didn't buy the game. Anywho,TC, it's too bad you didn't give it any more of a chance. I was just like you at one point or another. I purchased the 360 version, I barely got passed the first level and I quit due to its graphics. At first, the graphics are kinda shoddy and outdated looking but it gets better. And I happen to like the animations in this game.. especially the random finishers. The PC version is definitely the superior version in graphics and some might even say gameplay.. PS3 comes in second and then the 360. I've tried both the 360 and PS3 versions and the PS3 is marginally better, but not game-breaking. If you're playing this game for graphics, this is where you're in the minority. Because gamers who purchased this game, must have at one point, thought about the graphics and how it looks dated.. but that didn't matter to them. Because the core game and its value is far greater than any steroid-injected game. It's one of those games where I sat down and played through the entire weekend.. and it was epic to say the least. They dont make games like this anymore.
