Haha, you JUST beat me to this. Wow. GS forumites are informed people!
If we see more gaming retailers that deal heavily in preorders (namely EBgames, Gamestop and Amazon), then I think we have us a bonafide leak. This could be the first step, though. Hardcore fanboys will either take this as cold, hard proof or refuse to believe this ever because the game is an EXCLUSIVE.
But, the REALITY is that this is something that cannot, nor should not, be ignored. This could very well be the smoking gun, folks ...
i knew this will come sooner or later, i swear, is coming on the 360, is stupidity not to know so, is the game of the breakthrough, after gears of war, there is mgs4
see ya
For those of you in the UK. How big of a retailer is HMV. Is it comprable to Best But or Circuit City in the US.chicagog19#
Pretty big and reliable.

It's HMV.co.uk.......... the same website that didn't actually have any PSP games on it til months after the launch yet for some reason they took pre-orders on the hardware...........

It's like Taco Bells.
Not a clue how big taco bells is, but in the places I've been in the UK, HMV is considered to be a Music and Film store that happens to sell games but most people go to Gamestation or Game instead.
why does everyone try to discount HMV because they didn't have psp games? maybe they were trying to set-up the warehouse for the psp games? companies can't just add whole departments to their store in daysedflam311
Cos they are crap for games. They charge extra, they don't have much of a selection compared to other stores and they don't even have any preowned games.

HMV is kinda like a supersized FYE but not as big as a Virgin Megastore.

Taco Bells is a fast food chain in America :P
Anyhow, where I live (Cumbria) HMV and Virgin are the main suppliers for music and film entertainment, while Game for.. games. Neither HMV or Virgin is better/worse, you just pick the one closest to you at that moment.
Ya know, if Alan Wake was coming to PS3 too, I wouldn't care. I just don't get why people champion for exclusivity. I personally hate it when I tell people about a great game and they can't play it because they can't afford the console that its on in addition to the one they have.
The only difference that I can honestly say about the HMV listing for MGS4/360 and the Amazon listing for Alan Wake/PS3 is that we know as a fact that Alan Wake is a console exclusive due to MGS actually publishing it (link). That isn't the case for MGS4, as it is still being published by Konami and SCE doesn't have anything to do with the publishing of it. Therefore we KNOW that the Amazon listing is a outdated listing (the game was at one time coming to both consoles), but theHMV listing is brand new.
Put yourself in their shoes for a minute, you spent millions making a game looking to make a profit out of it. Are you gonna limit yourself to an audience of 4 million? a scenario where 75% of that audience would have to buy your game so you just break even? Or spent a little more and port it to a 11million audience? Thats 15 million POTENTIAL customer vs 4. No brainer, unless Sony offered to buy 3-4 million copies themselves to make up for it.
It doesn't mean anything. Amazon is also taking preorders for Alan Wake on the PS3. Get used to retailer's messing this stuff up, or pretending they messed up to get people to go to their site.vendettared468
MGS4 was inevitibly going to be released on the 360. Sequel to MGS2. MGS2:Substance came to the Xbox, so Konami would have been stupid not to release it on the 360.Lancer-Evo-III
Where to start picking apart the logic on this........... MGS3 was the game after MGS2:Substance and neither that, nor MGS3:Subsistence was released on Xbox or X360. Secondly, as for the "Konami would have been stupid not to", MGS2:Substance didn't really sell all that well on the Xbox compared to the phenomenal sales on the PS2.
Now this part for everyone else. Thirdly, Kojima specifically said he would only do this for the PS3. Fourthly, the game is going to be AT LEAST 26GB (probably more in the range of 40GB-50GB). That is approximately 5 DVDs. Now Metal Gear might be a good game, but that amount of DVDs would no doubt mean they would probably charge an insane amount for a game, if it was possible!

Oh, I'm sorry, I wasnt aware that Big Boss was only 30-40 after MGS2. God, I'm so stupid, I better go kill myself now.
I don't beleive te game would be 40 gb unlessits pacxked with an extreme amount of HD CGI movies.. But then knowing sony that would probly be the case. The game would be a fraction of the size in comparision to the HD movie data, We all know the PS3 does not have the ram nor the ability to utalize its cells in order to run a game 40+gb in size.. So I beleive its quite possible to come to the 360 even if its on 3 discs just as blue drasgon is =)judas-savior
Perhaps a game which will be "HDD Required.. "
Dunno but either way id probly get it on PS3 anyway depending.. Im no fan boy but my faith in sony has been severly lacking this current generation.. let me down so bad *tear* lol[QUOTE="donwoogie"][QUOTE="Lancer-Evo-III"]MGS4 was inevitibly going to be released on the 360. Apology Accepted, and I recommend electocution :)
Interesting... the xbox 360 version says it contains only one disc but according to Kojima if I remember right the game will be around 20gb. How can 20gb fit on one dvd?
One thing people are forgetting about this gen and last gen consoles, the Ps3 is more powerful not only with hardware specs but also disc size and other things. It was much easier to port last gen from PS2 to Xbox because the Xbox was more powerful in every way. The fact is MGS4 is built on PS3 hardware, designed to fit on a Blu-ray disc and the MGS movie is being made by Sony pictures. I just don't see MGS4 being ported to xbox 360 this time. Hideo Kojima even said he wanted to keep this last game in the series onthe PS3.
