I was really looking forward to this holiday season after an especially nasty semester at school, and one of the main reasons was for all the fantastic games that were coming out. Well, the holiday gaming rush is upon us now and I have discovered something terrifying......IT IS KINDA STRESSFUL. There are just too many great games right now to play and sometimes I sit in front of my TV and just stare at my stack of games trying to decide which to play. Sometimes I can't decide what to play and give up and do something else. Sometimes I will start playing something only to realize that I want to play somthing else, and when I go to play the other game I realize I would rather play yet another game... This isn't how it's supposed to be! These decisions shouldn't be hard! BTW the games I am tryiing to decide between playing that I own right now are:

Dead Space, Fallout 3, Fable 2, EndWar, Far Cry 2, and Gears 2.

I will probably never finish any of them at this rate. :(

I thought one of the primary reasons that people cited as a reason for their gaming habits was that it relieves stress :/

Yeah I agree - and more so this year than any other I think. I normally buy all the new releases every week (as long as they are mildly interesting) - but for the first time since launch I find myself struggling with that a little bit - especially since I'm a multi platform owner.

I'm the type of gamer who will only play one game at a time - start to finish - and I joke around with people I know that if I didn't buy another single game and only played the ones sitting on my shelf - it would keep me occupied until the end of next summer.

LOL - sort of :P

I'm not sure if I find it funny anymore - now there is this stress to hurry up and catch up because there are so many good worlds sitting there waiting for me to explore them.

Great topic. :)

You're right, that's why it annoys me :) Shouldn't be stressful at all!

Um just a note for ya - usually those of us who get every new game or most of them - ARE "grown ups". We earn our own money and spend it on our hobby.

its didn't actuall mean "grow up" as in age more. I meant grow up as in like don't complain that you have every game and can't decide. Just because your you earn your own money doesn't mean your grown up, you could be 43 years old and still need to "grow up".

Amen brother, don't hate me because I choose to spend the money that I work for on new games........Maybe you just need a better job? Or you could just try not being so bitter? Either one could help.

The point is that allot of gamers do and can get every game they want (myself included) - that shouldn't mean you think they are whining when they write a legitimate and intelligent thread such as this one.

I am feeling the same stress the original poster is as I stated in my inital response. I just wish they would have spread these releases out a little more is all - there hasn't been a gaming season I know of quite THIS flooded with AAA choices.

And 43???

Not quite - but you're really not that far off either. LOL

I built my first computer (from a kit) as a kid in 1978 - so yeah the years keep going by - you'll see. ;)

PEACE!!!

This is not a bad problem to have. Too many good games? There's always that lull after the holiday season when few games are released. Use that time to play through your long list. You don't have to play through all of them in a week. Take your time and enjoy them. The only problem I see is that you end up spending a few hundred dollars on games.

LOL - yeah I wish I had only spent "a few hundered dollars" - it's more of a lifelong addiction for me than most though. :P

You are right though - that there is plenty to be occupied with for a long while. :)

Speaking of which...

I gotta get off GS now and go tackle one.

Sometimes I look at my shelf where I keep all my games and DVD's and start counting...$60 + $60 + $60 + $60 + $60 + $60...It makes me feel kind of sick sometimes. I try not to think about it.

I'm ok with dropping the dough as long as I get my money's worth, and I definitely think every game I named has delivered on that front.

You just would have spent it on something else unimportant in the overall scheme of life, so don't stress! After all, what's the point of earning money if you can't enjoy what it buys you? Cover your expenses, save what you can, and enjoy the rest baby!
