imo its good because it plays more like halo 2. no bs on the maps, like shield doors or super-weapons/power ups (aka equipment) in camping-convenient/completely vulnerable places. also for some reason you dont have to be as tactical while playing.
and this might be off topic but imo halo 2>halo 3. the only thing i didnt like in halo 2 was the sword, it should have been like the halo 2. sword. that was the only real problem, all the maps were great, and the weapons were pretty balanced. and the meelee system was not bork'd.
