horrible noob question about xbox 360

ok i know this is gunna sound sad... but im thinking about getting one, i have wanted one forever, i just need to know one thing...

do i need a modum for online? or can i just hook up w/ a phone jack?

u need a router and high speed internet and you will be set.

you need DSL/Cable/FTTH/Any connection to the internet still used in modern day.

360 connects via ethernet port, which means you need a router or similar.Mikee3

Why modem is a generic name for any device which allows an internet connection be it broadband or 56k. ie. dsl modems. And seriously why do soo many people never have anything constructive to say.

TC you will need a modem and a broadband connection and the option of a router if you would like multiple connections such as computers.
