How bad is Tony Hawk's Ride?

Just wondering if anyone has actually tried Tony Hawk's Ride yet. If so, I just wanna see what has happened to what used to be one of my favorite game series.

I'm not really willing to pay that much to try it. Lack of 360 controller support is a poor idea.

Yeah so far it's not looking good for Ride. The poor production values seem to be it's biggest crime. On the upside I guess the board itself is a pretty solid idea and with better implementaion could work well enough.

Let's be honest though. After Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 on the Dreamcast it was all downhill. Sure 3 was pretty passable, and 4 wasn't really a disaster, they never got the formula quite as perfect as Neversoft's ultimate achievement with 2. The we got Undergroud and American Skateland and other noble attempts to change it up....that never quite worked. Shame. They should just remake 2 :P

The Reviews I have watched so far have made me Laugh Endlessly, When I first saw the controller when it was announced I said it would never work.

Guess what? I was right.

It's got an average score of 5.9/10. That's not even mediocre, it's a crapbomb.

It makes me sad to hear that they didn't even have the controller option. Watching vids on it hurt as well. I think the series needs to die.

It's only 1.1 points away from getting a good score. That is mediocre, it says so right underneath the "59" on Metacritic. Crapbomb is being way too harsh.
