well usually on bestbuy.ca it says vga in the analog vs vga section in the moniter info. but sometimnes it just says analog and DVI. Is analog considered vga? and for one moniter it says analog RGB, dvi input. does that mean it has vga or no?

what do you need VGA for?

You have DVI. Get some 3rd party cables.

It's as good as HDMI

DVI is white and have a little cross I think.

VGA is the same as your pc monitor cable.

Uhh no you go with VGA, there's no DVI cable.

Analog RGB is VGA, and I haven't seen a monitor yet that doesn't have VGA input so I doubt it wouldn't have one.

Um no, you can buy an HDMI to DVI adapter. Might want to educate yourself first before shooting someone else down.

Okay then but there isn't actual cable for it, which is what I said... Would it look better than VGA though?

most 360s do not have hdmi... as in every 360 made before july 07. Microsoft makes a 1st party vga cable that plugs right into the 360, no adapter required.

Good choice on going for a computer monitor for budget HD gaming. I picked up a nice 22" widscreen samsung monitor for 300 including the cost of the new cable. I was pricing TVs in that size and price range for a month and nothing came close to the quality of the samsung at even $100 more than what I spent. You can go MUCH cheaper than that if you go for a cheaper brand too. I saw 'off brand' 19" widescreen monitors for as low as 120.

Just remember, no built in speakers. Luckilly microsoft was kind enough to include a RCA to headphone jack adapter with teh VGA cable, for easy plug and play with any set of computer speakers. Or if you already have a 5.1 setup like me then your gold. :D

Analog RGB is VGA. My HDTV also says analog rgb instead of VGA, so i guess it's the same thing. As for the VGA input, it looks like this.

VGA is BLUE and DVI is WHITE.

SO at the store look behind the monitors and see for yourself. I bought my monitor, It has DVI for my PC and VGA for my 360. I switch them through a button, Very Convenient.
