Just wondering...putting one full game like half life 2 on one disk is logical, but how did they put HL 2, HL 2:EP1, HL:2 EP2, Team Fortress 2, and finally Portal.? :)

alot of compression, you know how when you choose a game from the main menu, and that load screen? it's decompressing the game files of the game you selected a little bit. and for the times in HL2 where there;s that little load screen, it's compressing the part you just passed along with decompressing the part you about to get to......i think that's right im not proofreading my post

That sounds about right, I always thought those load scenes during the game were annoying, but seems like they serve a good enough purpose to be alright.

A lot of it is compressed and it's also on a dual layer disc. Also three of the five games don't have graphics that push the system so that saves space.

they all use the same game engine so it only needs hl2 + the files for all the other games. it also helps that the other games are pretty short.

That was completely irrelevant to the topic.

lol my thoughts exactly! anyways, i think valve did a great job getting all of that into one game. they definately created value in the game by including so much!

The Orange Box is one amazing value deal. How they fit so many games into one box? I dont know, but I'm not complaining. ;)
