i am thinking about buying this game. I have never player an MK game in my life, i usually play marvel vs capcom 3 and sf 4 but on easy difficulty (not too skilled on fighters but i find them fun).

The fighting itself is pretty easy...the trophies are time consuming (1day played on each character ugh) but still easy...overall its a fun game and worth at least checking out...maybe rent it first and see if you like the way the gameplay is? ppl spawn the same moves onine but thats every fighting game...also the online tends to disconnect ppl quit a bit but most of the time its ppl nerd raging

MK is not nearly as fast-paced as MvC3, or SF4 for that matter. I have always prefered the Street Fighter style fighting games over Mortal Kombat. MK is a fun game though.

the online is glitched to hell... random freezes...desycronizing errors...room not available.. you cant choose your DLC characters if the other person doesnt have them..
its a joke

the fighting? well is slower than even ssf4...this game is about spamming your moves and who is best at it...actually mvsc3 is kinda like that too..they are similar..

i find ss4 has better balance..

anyway i play all 3 games and enjoy them all.

Regardless of what people saying, kinda depends on the difficulty :P

Though, compared to other games on easy, it probably is easier to play MK.. Unlike other fighting games, MK depends less on special moves and more on a mix and match of regular combos and special. SO, you can get away with just spamming buttons against computers. Not to mention how vulnerable they are to criss cross jump attacks. They never can respond in time... One thing you may find difficult though is when they pit you against two people. That can be fairly cheap, but it's all about being conservative in your attacks and exploting their poor defense.

You only need the compatibility packs which are now mandatory.

Also I've played nearly 500 matches online so far and from my experience the only super tier character is kung lao rest are all pretty decent in there own way except sheeva, jax (no combos lol) baraka ect. So idk why people are saying it's unbalanced obv played one game and lost hard or are street fighter fans boys.

It's not that difficult, I just got it a couple of weeks ago and love it. And I beat the story mode (which is great imo) yesterday... F*** Shao Kahn though.

its much easier and less complex than MVC3 or SF4. The only real thing you have to get used to is how they handle combos in MK which is radically different then most fighters. They are buffered so you actually have to hit each button ahead of time or the combo wont come out. That and getting used to the fact thats theres a block button.

No it's not. Unless you follow the set combos and just spam the specials it's not easy. It takes timing and skill to actually juggle and use the moves to come up with 10+ hit combos.
