Just wondering. I don't have a HDTV and I was wondering if the games look really bad on a SDTV setup or will they still look good?
I know they'll look the best on a HDTV but I don't have one lol.

they look fine, I have an HDTV and a SDTV, yes the HD is better, but on SDTV it's totally playable and serviceable.grafkhun
Ah good. I was kind of scared it would look bad.
^ scared? really? do jaggies make you quiver in your boots :roll:grafkhun
I've heard about how Dead Rising makes it hard to read text in-game -- so I thought it would be a universal issue but I guess not.
There are some games that have tiny text issues (like Dead Rising), but other than that, there's not any problems with using an SDTV. I've got mine hooked up to an SDTV and it still looks awesome--definitely a noticeable improvement over last gen's graphics.WiseOldUnicorn
Thats good to know. Hopefully Gears 2 will look nice on my SDTV

It will. I was worried at first about my SDTV because I heard much about unreadable text and stuff like that, especially in Dead Rising, which was my first game. But I don't have any problems whatsoever. I'm sitting close to my TV and haven't seen a single thing that I couldn't read just fine. And my copy of Gears 2 should arrive at friday. Yay!
SD is fine - most games look great, infact, some things actually look better in SD! As its not soo sharp, things can look a little more natural.
The biggest problem is going back to SD. I play in HD most of the time, but sometimes move the xbox into the bedroom onto the SD TV and you do notice the difference. The main thing is text as people say.
With fallout 3, for some odd reason everything was really dark on a SD TV? I had to turn the brightness up.
Yeah, if you have SD, you won't notice anything wrong with 360 games on your TV. THen, once you do play in HD, you will be blown again once more, it will feel like a new console. So, don't play in HD until you can afford a nice TV for yourself.
I had my HD break and I it was hard to play in SD after being accostomed to HD for so long. But, you slowly get used to it.

Yeah i was playing in HD about 6 months ago at some blokes house but its been that long since i played i honestly can't tell the difference.Man i need my job back.
I often do play 360 at my friends house on an HDTV setup -- so I'm kind of used to it:?Haziqonfire
Well your not going to go"Oh it looks horrid i don't even want an xbox anymore" but you may have slight disappointment if your that accustomed to it.I had the same fears but once i played it i didn't even care anymore you should be fine.;)

lol good -- That's all I've played it on, HDTVs -- and I don't care THAT much about graphics, I just don't want the games to look really bad when compared to the game on HD. That was my only worry really but you've said I'll be fine
so good :)
I had an SD for ages, now I have an 19' in 720p, tbh it's not that much different, just colours look better and less jaggies.Englandfc1966
You get more jaggies in HD if you ask me as the lines are more defined. In SD the lines are a little blurred so you can get away with more. HD is alot less forgiving. The bigger the HD the more apparent they are as well.
Its like when people complain about jaggies in forza 2 - I had no idea what they were on about until I made the switch to HD
