hey.

I have this monitor : HP w22   http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00772014&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3251360&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

and I also have the MadCatz VGA Cable: http://www.madcatz.com/?Page=256&CategoryImg=Xbox_360_Cables

The video works fine, but I do not have anything to hook the red and white cords up for volume, what would I need to do to get volume using this?

You need a separate sound system to which you can hookup them there red and white cords. In other words, you cannot hook them up to your computer, you need an amplifier of some sort. Oh, and I'd suggest using an optical wire for sound, the difference in analog and digital sound is unbelievable. It's like going from SD to HD, but with your ears!

I'm pretty sure you'll find the proper hookups located at the back of your amplifier, or at least they should be there...

I'm not talking about an amplifier, just regular speakers with a single male jack. The problem is the vga one is male aswell

Would this work? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Female-Socket-Phono-Adapter-Splitter/dp/B000Q8FEHA/ref=sr_1_31/202-2726377-7569423?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1178374114&sr=1-31

Ah, you mean connecting each cord straight to it's respective speaker? I suppose that adapter will do, never had to try one out for myself though.

All you need is a coupler, buy it at radio shak for like 5 dollars. The vga cables should've come with a female piece that has a male input for speakers. Basically plug the red and white into that piece, and whether you need the coupler or not is dependant on your spearks., and you should be good.
