I use a monitor and headphones for my gaming setup. I plug my HDMI monitor into my 360 to get a display. The AV cable would then be plugged in so I can use the white and red for audio. However, I can't plug in the AV cable. The stupid AV cable has this bump that prevents you from plugging it in when an HDMI is plugged in. Why is it like this? The PS3 doesn't have this problem. Am I missing something? How can I plug in an HDMI and be able to use the AV cable as well?

I had the same problem connecting my Xbox to my monitor with sound. I looked up some info on the internet and you can take off that plastic piece with a screwdriver. There are many other options but thats what I did. I'm frugal and cheap, so I did it on a pair of extra A/V cables that I wasn't using.

Yeah, I did a bit more research and that was my only option apparently. I think it's insane that I have to do that. I have everything hooked up now, but man...what a pain.

You need to get conversion cables for the audio out port on the back of the T.V., then attach a "female" adaptor to the "male" end of the cable, and plug the "male" end of the head-phones into the now "female" end of the cables. The whole set up should run you about 25-30 dollars (cables are EXPENSIVE AS HELL) and it's better then breaking your X-Box.

Can't you just buy that little Microsoft adapter thing they try to rob you with? $20 is it?
