I recently purchased several games from a video store that was going out of business. Fable 2, Dead Space and UFC 2009 all have tamper evident stickers on the discs. Having worked in a video store in the past I've seen what happens when you just try to peel them off. I don't want to destroy the discs..but the things were never put on right and the damn things spin off kilter. Any suggestions?

I think I would try warm water before the dryer. Just let it soak for 20 min and then give it a try. Reminds me of one rental place back in the PS 1 days that put protective films on the discs to try to make them last longer but the guy put them on all wrinkled and they wobbled like crazy. Basically he destroyed a few thousand dollars of games.

Don't Microwave the disk... Unless you want this to happen to your disk. I think the hot water idea would be best, but you would have to makes sure that the sticker is the only thing to touch the water. The disk might be damaged by warm water or heat from a hair dryer.

You should be banned perminently for suggesting something you've never tried and will most definently destroy the OP's disc.

Shame on you!

Naa, probably used a microwave. =P I would have preferred to just use a little bit of margarine on the area and remove the sticker. Always works fine for me, and my disks still work nicely.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but what exactly is a tamper-evident seal on a disc? Does it cover the whole disc? Or is it that little plasting thing you see on the inside part of the disc around the hole?
