You can choose not to sign in to MSN Messenger but you can't remove the feature from the console.

They want it becuse they uaren't allowd. I don't know why, thats really dumb actually, I'd be pissed too. Because, as they say, younger kids use it all the time. And I mean, its not like they couldn't do one worse in terms or "safty" by useing the voice and video chat on teh regular chat channel.

Yes you can.  From you Xbox Live Blade, click on your Gamertag at the top and it will show a list of options.  At the top should be "View Games", and at the bottom should be "Auto Sign-in".  Click "Auto Sign-in" and you can disable Messenger from starting when you boot up your console.

Thanks for the help, i've been trying to figure out a way to disable msn messenger, at least until the keyboard comes out.  Thanks again.

You cant...just dont use it I guess. I hate the new update...my 360 is a gaming console, and occasionally watch DVD's when its on anyways. But I have a computer to chat it up...and I hate the new XBL Store Blade or whatever that is.

It's actually quite useful for me. I can't be on my PC and Xbox at the same time. And since everything we do is discussed via msn, it's quite useful to be online while I play games. So I can be informed on what's happening, sort of speak.
