I dont think my 360 needs too much cooling. If it ever did Id get the room temperature down by opening a window or something and grab myself a jumper........or I would turn the 360 off fo a while to let it cool down.

Yeah, I find it better to just give your 360 a break every now and then instead of a cooler.

I generally don't use one, cuz it's in a rather open place, but when I need, I have a Laptop fan under it.

I have a fan on it (360 is laying down, fan is on the left angled back) so that it's constantly getting cool air.

i play my xbox for hours on end, and i never overheat. its just a marketing ploy imo, coolers void warrenties and they double the amount of sound so it sucks. just turn it off

I put a home fan on the 360 when I'm using it, keeps it pretty cool. Also, when it gets warm to the touch, I let it rest for a few minutes.

They do infact void warranties.

To cool my 360, I give me 360 "feet" made out of legos so that it's not touching any surface.

I've just stuck mine by the window and put the Power adapter on top of the television by the window. My 360 gets a nice cool breeze every now and then because the insulation is bad on my windows... :P

I don't. I just play for as long as I want or can. It gets cooled down while I am not playing it (and I don't play it a lot because I dont have a lot of time to play).

Yea they are just too tight to spend the money, so they keep permiating the myth that it causes probs, some jokers go so far as to say it gets hotter(lol).Anyway I use an Intercooler EX and ruubber grommets to elevate on my 360 elite. I have tested the temp and w/ my system it DOES NOT GO UP 1 DEGREE during the 3 to5 hr sessions I play.

They changed the intercooler in the past year by putting a metal insulator and a locking mechanism on it to prevent this EXTREMELY rare prob from happening on current units.

Why is it that there always has to be somebody on every forum you go to who automatically assumes that another person on the same forum has no life? I think you're forgetting where you're at.

Microsoft built a tiny fan into my 360 to blow hot air out of it for me. I just let it do all the work.

I don't. I mean, I don't use any dedicated system to cool my 360, I just keep it in a well-ventiated location and try not to play on it for too long a stretch at a time. The 360 may not be the most reliable system in the world, but if treated right it can be pretty reliable, nonetheless. Here's a rule of thumb though: if you wouldn't do it to your PC's tower, don't do it to your 360. I saw some dude just dump his 360 into the back seat of his car like a sack of potatoes. I asked him if he'd do that to his PC at home, or his laptop, and he said, "Hell no."

Acually using any products with your Xbox360 that are not made by Microsoft WILL in fact void your warranty. They can and will tell that you used an intercooler or something simillar even if it is external and removable

I've put mine on a little table and put some mini tiles in the corners of my 360 to raise it off the ground as it gets pretty damn hot from the bottom. It gets good open space but it also gets f'in boiling here in the summer so i don't use it in the day very much.

I just simply turn it off and leave it alone.. the inner coolers are just and accident waiting to happen, those things will mess up your 360 quicker, they are helpful if you want the rrod

you dont need a cooling device but you can use one if ur really worried about it, I play my 360 a lot and don't have any problems, but if it rrod on me I send it in and get a repaired or new one sent right back all for free. personally I really dont see a cooler helping that much.

I also have a big fan (not the classic ones but the ones that look like a tower) blowing air on maximun speed into the right side of the 360 and I keep the 360 laying horizontally over 4 caps of spray cans (so it ventilates from the bottom side too)...

over the 360 I put two really small and thin wood pieces (with the minimum surface touching the top of the 360) and over that I put the power brick (so it receives air from the fan too)....

It always run cool for hours and hours (well i play it for like 2-3 hours and then i turn it off for like 15-20 minutes, rinse & repeat)...

Every once in a while I dust off the insides of everything (fan/360/powerbrick) with one of those cans of compressed air...

OVER-EXAGGERATING MUCH? maybe... but I'd do everything to keep that nasty RRoD away from my 360 u___u

and god knows I'm gonna be very pissed if RRoD happens after all those precautions...

San-Frodenzo
I believe me, with that fan after 5-6 hours (when i can't turn it off because halo MP is way to fun that day or i'm playing with friends and we're having a blast) is cool as the fonz

I play my 360 elite for hours on my off days. and I have NEVER had a problem with overheating. My xbox is placed next to my tv stand in an open area. Are you guys putting them inside your entertainment systems with the doors closed on the cabinets or something? I saw this one video of a dude on youtube where he had his in a pull out drawer. I was like, "ok, you're beggin for it to start over heating". My advice is to just keep it in an open area thats not cluttered with junk, and you should be fine.
