it was a little underwhelming compared to the huge updates. The only things that really improved the 360 in my opinion were the marketplace blade and the new autoshut off download thing

but since they are too god damn retarded to think something through (aka not being able to sign in to diff msn accounts, change your GT email, or I hear for some people perma child account restrictions aka you don't ever grow older than 17? lol)
so I would say like 2/10 for the extra blade.

LOL...that really does suck big time yet I forsee the countless streaming of pointless updates (no gotta open blad to chat?? c'mon Microsoft). Now if some of you gamers are tech junkies or just media buffs then I think most of you guys will like the "optional" download to be able to watch new formats streaming from your pc. This includs MP4 files and some AVS files.. I have tons and tons of youtube videos that I can now watch on my 360/pc/psp YAY MEDIA BUFFS REJOICE!

I give this May 07 update a 8/10 on a technical standpoint , but I give it a 6/10 for the average or just hardcore gamer who is to busy gaming to chat it up with 6 other friends on a keyboard (lol keyboard + console cmon M$)

Oh also you can "force" the size of the video file to fill the screen which I love since now I can watch my old south park episodes in full 16:9 view :):D

oh man whats going on here??  Why are so many people saying this update is no good??  Give me a break people please...what do you want the xbox to do for you now?  Make you coffee?  You want it to have the capability to use it as an alarm clock??  ITS JUST A DASHBOARD UPDATE! GET OVER IT!

So the people who are whining are saying that they prefer NOT to have the extended information for whats int he disc tray, would rather NOT have the added in game achievement points display features, would rather NOT be able to leave the xbox on over night at minimum power to download movies while you are sleeping....]

yeah all these things are pointless arent they?  All people say is "MAn, we dont need msn that stupid".  Well guess what, no one is forcing you to PAY for the msn....if you dont like it heres an idea.  DONT USE IT.  There WILL be people who will want to use it...and you know what else?  Maybe some people are too short sighted, but the MSN messenger is actually IMPORTANT because of future Live Anywhere features, so that you can comunicate with people on PCs and actually PLAY against them too, just like you do with other xbox users....Your frind on a PC logged on to msn?  Send him a message! Invite him to play Shadowrun!  I guess some people havent figured that one out yet....  DUHH. 

Even if MSN had absolutely NO worth at ALL on the x360, those three features added on to it that i mentioned above make this a valuable update.  I would rather have them now than later. 

Even if the update offered NOTHING at all, WHO CARES!  ITs just an update!! IS your life that sad that you have to sit and ponder the meaningfulness of an xbox update??

backwards compatibilty isnt included in the updates- theyre at random times.
