How do you get better at Guitar Hero/Rock Band?

This is a serious question.

I just started playing Hard on Rock Band (and I know Guitar Hero is harder), and I'm doing pretty badly. I can hit the notes fine, but the incorporation of the orange button keeps throwing me off.

Any tips?

I have to move my hand - my little finger just doesn't want to do what my brain wants :D

The practice feature comes in really handy, especially as you can replay just the parts you are stuck on - afterall who wants to have to go all the way through TTF&F to practice the final section :P

play alot,then take a couple days off,play alot,so on.me was crazy,i borrowed gh3 from my friend and started expert,was doing bad but got to the setlist with stricken and kept failing so i returned it back to him.borrowed it coup weeks later,was better.its odd,but now im pretty badass at it and can beat raining blood pretty easy now,thou cant get 4x on the green intro.starfox2468

Same thing happend to me. I could beat almost every song on hard but got worked on expert. Then i stopped playing for 3 months or so and i could all of a sudden play most songs on expert.

Exactly what he said.

- slide your hand down and start with your index on red, and pinky on orange

- use your pinky for mostly just solos

- use your first three fingers for most rythmn's, sliding up and down the neck

- dont try to assign your fingers to colors, you have to move them around

Don't go down, just keep practicing on Hard
