its obviously a good problem to have when you have so many cool games to play, but im running in to it full on. it makes it even harder with multiple consoles. i have a 360 and a wii, and as of right now, 90% of my game purchases have been 360....however, the flagship wii game just came out....mario galaxy. now heres the problem:

i have been thouroughly entranced with COD4 as of late because its freakin awesome. multiplayer has yet to get stale, and i dont think it will any time soon. halo 3 ive been playing some, but its just not as fun as COD4. that may be blasphemy, but its true. halo 3 is fun, but its overhyped a little. anyway, ive only finished half life 2 and just started on episode 1 from the orange box, so i still have episode 1 and 2 to finish, plus portal advanced challenges to beat, and ive barely scratched the surface of TF2. so here is what i have as of right now:

The Orange Box

Halo 3

COD 4

Super Mario Galaxy

....and soon.....Mass Effect....which will probably suck up all my time.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.....i dont want to miss out on any one experience, but i with so many good games coming out, my desire to own them and play them is overwhelming!!! i plan on getting guitar hero 3 or rock band for christmas and that will suck up more time, but geez. does anyone else have this problem?? i am currently playing 3 first person shooter games, and so my desire for third person (mass effect) and something third person/unique (mario) has me drawn away from cod4 right now. what a dilemma!

I realize maybe gaming isn't a horserace and it's not a competition who plays them first, and then also realize they'll be around in 2 years even, so it's not the end of the world if I don't get them all omgwtfnaow!!!!!!1

well i know its not a horse race, and even though the games will be out 2 years from now....the online multiplayer will be dead unless itsa stellar game. fortunately the fps games i have will probably still be played.

I usually start with the games that can be beat the fastest first. If thats not an option I will just rotate between whatever games I hhave.

Well, i am renting some and buying some

I rented Orange Box and played and finished HL2 and Portal then i returned it and i will play it later on

Bought GH3 and CoD4 Loved single player in CoD 4 playing somee mp now and kinda enjoying GH3 even though

i do not understand why they had to have such an insane level difficulty on the last few songs (ONE, Raining Blood) on hard

Kinda lost interest in it but still play some on line

Planning on getting Galaxy and paid Uncharted....as you can see

I have no solution for you LOL

Leave the single player games till later, Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect are offline so you can getthem anytime. Get your online games now while the community is strong and you don't get owned if you start playing months after everyone else

backlog is always a problem for me...my game appetite is bigger than my time allotted. Here's how I usually plan: try to finish single player first because if you play multiplayer first you may get sick of the game before you finish single player. Then move on to the next game. If I have a free Fri or Sat I'll play single player earlier in the evening and the multiplayer later in the night (gets rid of some of the annoying younger ones). Here is my plan:

Halo 3 1-player (just finished)
Bioshock 1-player
Half-Life Orange box (1-player and multi)

If I get bored of TF2 then I'll pick up COD4 (play 1player first) then multiplayer

It always helps to play shorter games first...and rent games instead of buying. Then you have a limited amount of time with them and finish them in the allotted time.

Furthermore, remember to have fun with the game...gaming should be relaxing, not stressful. If you aren't having fun move on to the next game. Also, there is always a HUGE drought at the beginning of the year and into the spring. Don't feel like you have to complete everything now (especially single-player games). They will still be here in the middle of April when the only thing being released is some movie game that sucks.

I just try to cycle through all the games. I have the exact same dilema. I was loving orange box, playingTF2 until COD4 came out. Now I'm always playhing the online for COD4 & TF2 and I've barely even touched the singleplayers (but i did beat HL2 on PC). And now i just picked up Mario & assassins creed & mass effect coming out soon? Damn I don't kno but I plan to just devote one day to beating all the singleplayer fps's and then maybe working on mario

Just playing Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 takes enough of my time, so I don't have that problem.

GAMEFLY.

And ofcourse you'll buy some games you really want to add to your collection - whether you do that from GameFly or a Retail Store doesn't matter. I do both, I get them from GameFly and either keep them and buy them from GameFly or I'll go on release date and pickup a game from GameStop that I may have on Reserve.

This is the only way I've been able to keep up with all the games coming out that I want to play. I now own 14 games and also receive 4 games at a time from GameFly, I love it.

Also keep in mind that this is that Holiday season. The market is totally flooded with great titles. However comeMarch of next year there won't be anything new. My advice is to take your time and enjoy the excellent games one at a time. Buy them as you beat them. That way you will be picking up great titles through the year.

I just completely ignore a game exists.... for example.... Assasins Creed and COD4. I'll pick them up later down the road when they're cheaper... during a period of time when not many games are being released. I have Halo 3 and Super Mario Galaxy that's all that I need right now.
