I use the prepaid cards, then don't have to worry about any unnecessary charges...though if I had a normal Xbox I probably would be on Credit Card and not worry about switching anything

I first tried Live by using my credit card to pay for a month, but I regret doing it. Even if you only want a month just to "try" Live, you can't remove your credit card information and they charge you $7 or $8 bucks every month even if you would rather buy the subscription cards instead. Luckily for me I just put a restriction on my card and then they couldn't charge it but anyone who asks, just use the cards. Giving out your credit card info is risky and the subscription cards are just as easy to buy and use.

i just buy 12 month pre paids i honestly dont like having my credit card linked to thinks that charge annually i like to know where my moneys going plus one trip to gamestop or any other retail store a year to get the card its not taht mcuh of a hassle

I usually ended up getting a pre-paid card, but that was only because I was getting a discount when I worked at GameStop.
