I recently got online and last week everything was fine meaning my connection had no lag but now that's all I get. I am wired and I share my internet with my pc through a gateway modem given to me by Verizon. I had also checked my bandwith speed last week and it was something like 1200k. What can I do to find the reason for my lag? ThanksNitram_80
It could be that gateway modem you're using. I share my connection with my pc as well and I prefer to go through a little 4 port d-link hub/router. I know people with Verizon service and they claim it's reliable so I don't think it's your service.

well mine I think its a gateway/router b/c it has a 4 port thingy , meaning I have 4 slots for an ethernet cord . Why would this be the problem when last week it was working fine?[QUOTE="madskills6117"][QUOTE="Nitram_80"]I recently got online and last week everything was fine meaning my connection had no lag but now that's all I get. The first thing I would probably suggest is not sharing your connection to see if that fixes the problem. Naturally if you're sharing your connection then the chances of getting lag increase. Also the lag doesn't have to be your fault. It could be the person hosting the games you're playing fault. madskills6117Its not the host b/c I play 2 different games and multiple times. I will try it without my pc connected and see what happens . My mother in law mentioned that it could be the cold weather b/c the inles out there could be frozen , sounds stupid to me or is it?
