When I view my friends list on the XBox 360, it shows me what game they are playing, but not what they are doing in the game. It makes it extreemely difficult to know who I should, or should not, invite to a game.

For example when I view PlayerX it says:

Example 1
Playing All Pro Football 2K8

Yet when I view my friends list on the PC by logging into XBox live it says:

Example 2
Playing All Pro Football 2K8
Playing an Xbox Live match

I have talked to several friends, and they claim their XBox 360 is showing the information in the 2nd example. Is there a reason my XBox 360 is not displaying the info in Example 2? Is there a setting that needs to be modified?

I didn't have to do that to see what they were doing before. Has this been changed after the last XBox 360 update?

I thought it was always that way. Scrolling down your friends list shows you what theyre playing but not what theyre doing in each game. You have to hit the A button on your friend to see what hes doing in game. I thought it was always that way.

Nope! It used to show the game they were playing and what they were doing in the game, just like it does on the XBox Live page when you're logged in on the PC. They nerfed the XBox 360 for some reason. I was hoping it was a setting I could alter. After you get 70+ people on your list, you don't want to click on on each and everyone one to see what they are doing.

You've got to be kidding. Click A on 60 to 70 people, have another screen pop up, and then have to cancel out of each one, just to see if they are available for a game? That takes way too long.

You always have 60 people online at one time?

I used to have a full friends list and only 30 online at one time at the most.

I deleted almost 3/4 of them though and now I only have 30 total.

Nahh, there's probably 20 to 30 online at any given time when I'm playing. Still, why go through all of the hassle to view information that used to be provided right there on one easy to use screen for us?

How much info do you need? It tells you on the screen what game theyre playing and if theyre joinable theres an arrow next to thier name. Simple enough.

Not really no. For many of the online games, I want to see if they are currently playing a game online, not just if they are playing the game. Most of the sports games aren't 'joinable'. If they are in practice mode or surfing the menus then I can send them an invite. I have to click on each individual person to check this out right now, and it's painful. More so because you didn't have to do this before the latest patch last year.

If you select and view a friend, it will list what he/she is doing. Playing multiplayer, or playing a campaign etc.
