How hard is it to kill someone in COD 4 MP

Is it like GRAW 2 where a few shots kill someone or like Halo 3 where you need a lot of bullets to kill someone?

I played it at my friend's house, and its kinda in the middle. It doesnt take as many shots as halo, but its not like GRAW either (crappiest mp game ever!). It also depends on what weapon you choose (mp5 drops people pretty fast compared to AK47).
