[QUOTE="jay_k3"][QUOTE="ascendentjustic"]Make sure that when you buy a new 360 look for a MANUFACTURE DATE later than July 07. because thats the batch of 360s that have the new heatsink and the Ben-Q DVD drive. But i don't think they have the 65nm chip yet. if you want that wait until fall, probably in september or november.ZnLRyDa
Every 360 elite should have the new heatsink. My second one, which was manufactured march 23rd had one. Only the launch models didn't have the new heatsinks in them. The hitachi drives in the elites are new models that are more quiet and more reliable like the benq drive. If you get one with an hitachi drive thats quiet then you are good. But ascendentjustic is correct, elites manufactured after july should have nothing, but benq drives and they should definitely have the new heatsinks.
proof??? where does it say that at?
Here are two links, one tells you that the elite has the new heatsinks. The next link tells you how to know if you have the new heatsink without voiding your warranty. When I had my launch elite, which was manufactured in march 3rd it didn't have the new heatsink. My second elite manufactured march 23rd did have one. My current elite is made July 7. It has the new heatsink and the new hitachi drive, which is a hitachi-LG-3120L ROM VER47. Its much quieter and it is known to perform better than the older model. People who have taken their 360s apart have noticed that the hitachi drives are different than the prior versions. If you check the side of your box that carries the xbox, it has a white sticker that shows the team and the batch number. Mine is from team CSON and the batch number is 726. People who have team FDOU and a high batch number have been getting the benqs. Some people who have been buying elites with high batch numbers all together have been getting benqs. This is the same for the new premiums. You should check ben hecks website and also the xbox.com forum to see what I'm talking about.
