My friend is in love with it (he say's he used to play rpgs a lot, though he is a pretty big shooter junkie, and he enjoys anime). I plan to pick it up from the good things he's said about it on top of the good reviews... that's all I can really say. But if you like JRPG's or anime, this should be right up your alley... more people need to buy this game, I'm sure it has horrible sales.

I have it and loving it but the only beef i have with it is that you have to play the game a second time too get all 100% done and all achievement points.

For a big JRPG fan as well, I'm really loving every part of it. I have Blue Dragon and Enchanted Arms and Eternal Sonata really stepped a notch as far as the gameplay is concerned. BD although would be the best 3D graphics among the 3 IMO, its somewhat dragging and when compared to EA and ES, the battle system will bore you because it's really slow. EA on the other hand has a fast forward feature incase you didn't know that boosts the speed of your turn...less boredom. BD and ES share the same way of getting into battle which is not random, very impressive battle system that has nice effects. For me, ES is like a little bit of BD and EA which makes it superior of the 3 JRPGs released for the 360. Can't wait to get my hands on Lost Odyssey :)

I got it for the girlfriend for xmas and she's playing it right now, if your a fan of anime/jrpg's like she isthen go and buy it you'll love it. I have no intrest in these games but theres been times when I've glanced over and seen some amazing graphics. Only problem I have is that I can't get on COD4 'cos she's on this cack all of the time!!!

Happy Gaming!

I like JRPGs, but Eternal Sonata is just to...blah. While it may be original, the story and battles get really old quite fast. Try out the demo if you're having trouble deciding.

More colorful than what a hippie that's high will see. But, according to the review, it's short for jrpg, and very straightforward. Not to mention a bit historic, and you will hear Dr. Phil many times over.

Its a good game but the battles are godly repetitive. There are usually only two enemy types per area and that come at you in about two diffrent formations, so the battles are very "shake and bake", ie you just attack in the same combo to win, more or less.

you would love the beginning, when you get behind an enemy. Somehow, it reminds you of the old hokey pokey dance when we were kids.

The game's solid enough. I'd recommend a blindfold and earplugs for the cutscenes though, especially the final one. It starts off with a story, but quickly descends into a pseudo-psychological rant about the ills of the world , using a ridiculous amount of weak, extended metaphors , rhetorical questions and monologues which seemingly had no impetus.

IMO it's the best JRPG available for the 360, the combat system is the best one I've ever seen, and the story is dark and really interesting... I would recommend a rent if you're not sure, because in the first playthrough the game is like 25 hours long.
