offline is a blast! be sure you have friends to play with cause online is pure shi*. It is like playing a game at 5fps. It is THAT bad! It sucks because I really like this game and it would be so awesome if it was flawless online. This is why I do not suppoirt the online pass, you rent a game like this or buy it used and then you purchase a pass for 10 bucks only to see that the game online is ka ka. And you dont get no refund. It just amazes me that I can play bad company with 24 people on a server with all types of stuff going on and no lag at all. But when i want to fight one on one it is a lag fest? Maybe Ed Boon and his buddies suck at developing net code...I dont know.....but bottom line, if you got friends to play local you should love it. Story is actually damn good to, cheesy but good and fun.

The Krypt could be better...there are a ton of things like fatalities and such, but you dont really need to unlock them, if you get them from the internet you can still input them and it still works. To much concept art and dumb stuff that I personally dont care for....who really likes looking at a sketch of ed boon's 2nd grade drawing of a fatlity..i mean come on. Xrays also get a little old...they look boss...but when playing and I pull one off or vice versa I want them to be quicker....they just take to long after a while. Id give the game a solid 8. I would give it more but the online is THAT bad!

I haven't played online yet. However my first play through single player is pretty awesome. I must also admit that I havent played a mortal kombat game since SNES/genesis day. Im not sure how that will affect my opinion, but this game is awesome in that it reminds me of how great those games were... fluid, exciting, gory and true to the series.

I wasnt sure if I would like the game. Took a chance, and Im happy. Plus its going to be a part of game night on Thursday night!

Fantastic so far. I have it for PS3 but I assume the netcode is the same and I haven't had any lag at all so far.. Haven't played King of the Hill tho.. I figure that stresses it a bit more. Great fighting tho. The Story mode is easily the best campaign in a fighting game... ever. I was hooked on MVC3 before this but I will definitely be playing MK9 for quite awhile.

Think about production and the budget for 30 CGI endings. I love the news ones, they look amazing. The art style is great and better than just 2 pictures like the past 4 games.

Yeah no kidding... I mean look at the endings for MVC3... two comic panels... and no epic single player campaign.

i just started playing the game and the story mode is actually really good. They have actual cutscenes and stuff, also there is alot of replay value in this game because you have that ladder mode to unlock a lot of content. The only thing i dont like is that i hear you cant play as the bosses such as Shao Kahn and Goro.

So far everything is great. I've been playing mostly offline, but I did play a couple rounds online (PS3 version) and didn't experience any lag. If it helps, trade in some games towards the purchase.

Game is suprisingly awesome. I had my doubts because I tuned out of MK when MK3 came out in like 1993. The first MK1 was my faviorte I think that was 1991.

MK9 brings it back to MK1/MK2 days, while adding some of the Tekken-style combos found in MK3 (no combo is more than 3 hits unless you get creative and add in some extra stuff on your own). So it's very easy to get into.

Overall, I'm really really enjoying it. So glad to see many of the elements in MK1 make it to this version. One thing I can't figure out is how the online works. It says I need to purchase a pass to play online, which is BS because I bought the game brand new, unopened. This is stupid if I have to pay extra to play online, if so, I'd say immediate BOYCOTT.

oh nevermind I finally found the online pass. It was in the inside of the box, underneath the manual and other advertisements. So.. yeah.. the game is great.

I haven't played a MK in ages, but this one has got me excited again, it is bringing back those feelings of when I was real young and playing this game, I've convinced myself to get it, just not sure when
