Its quite bad dude, maybe not as bad at first, but still quite bad. I was playing as Ryu and trying to unlease the fireball and he just kept doing the dragon punch, so damn fustrating

I also have to say that the PS3 controller isn't fairing any better for me, which is really the only reason I got it for PS3. It looks like I'll need to get an arcade stick to maximize my experience.

It can be alright if you really get used to it. IMO its utter crap and I can't handle it. I got me an arcade stick and its working out great for me.

Only problem is the Arcade sticks are all sold out. Unless you buy one on Ebay for 300$.

I purchased the PS3 version based on the comments about the 360 d-pad.....

If the PS3 is the good version i would be scared to even attempt the 360...

Pulling off Ryu/Kens Ultra combo is near impossible... i keep doing the uppercut... which leaves me dangerously vulnerable

Another problem is the layer of skin i lost on my thumb trying to do all these specials.... Its pre-blister, but senstitive enough to feel it all day long..

Ill have to play with a bandaid from now on (or until they finally release some arcade sticks)

BUT, for the most part the game is enjoyable with the d-pad

That's kinda sad. You played that much that it gave you a blister? 0.o

The d-pad is pretty bad.

Thats why I got used to using the control stick. Its not bad once you get used to it.

I use the control stick just fine. I haven't played the PS3 version yet, though, so I have nothing to compare it with.

I've been playing both 360 and PS3 versions and i can't stand using the D-pad for the 360. The analog stick works fairly well once you invest about 15 minutes into it. The more you play with it the better. The analog stick doesn't as well as I had hoped for me on the PS3 but the d-pad is decent. Wish the actual arcade sticks weren't so expensive.
