So I bought a new slimbox 360 (to replace my RROD fatbox) in november 2011, and the controller that came with it only lasted until february 2012 - both thumbsticks have drift in them :( So Ibought a new wireless controller (with recharge cable and battery) in februsary 2012, and it lasted until just a couple days ago - it is getting drift if the right thumbstick.

So i just bought another one, and am hoping that I get at least a years worth of gaming out of it before the thumbsticks start to drift.

So my question is, does anyone else have a problem with their xbox360 controllers wearing out as far as the thumbsticks go?

PS - I also have a wired controller but I use that for PC gaming, not sure if the wireless ones wear out faster or not.

I have encountered no problems so far with my 3 wireless and 1 wired controllers. Going strong after 5 years of use and abuse.

Only one controller broken from anger, throwing it on the floor. The one I use now is going strong after about 5 or 6 years.

My joysticks always end up having some type of problem usually less than a year.. Some aren't a problem, while others I can't/shouldn't play with them anymore..

Only had 2 broken controllers(1 dropped 1 thrown) and had this one for about 2 years but i've noticed lately the RB is sticking - so probably need a new one soon...

I'm still using the controller that came with my first console that I got back when Halo 3 came out. I also still have the controller that came when I switched to an "Elite" console a couple of years ago. I think the white one (the oldest one) has a little drift in one of the thumb sticks, but if I touch the stick it stops and it's nothing that interferes with game play.

This is very surprising cause I've had my controller for about 2 years now and it works like it's still brand new ... And at that I'm a big fighting game fan so my controller gets alot of abuse and I've never had any problems with it ...

I have 2 controllers (wireless) both are 5+ years old, no problems so far!

The only prob I have is with the charger, when I'm trying to recharge the batteries that were provided in this pack, they simply won't charge. But I guess that's the batteries' prob not the controllers'.

i wondewr why i keep getting crappy ones with thumbsticks that drift?

the controller that has two bad thumbsticks (drift) came from the 360 slim core system i bought in 2011, from walmart.

the controller that has one bad thumbstick (drift) came from newegg a year ago.

maybe there was a bad batch that came out in the last 2 years and i've been getting ones from that batch??

I used my first one for around 5 years and it still works now although I retired it from everyday usenot long ago and bought a new one because the sticks were getting a bit to bad for competative online play and were hurting my performance

But considering I usually play at least 20 hours a week, often more, I think lasting 5 years is pretty good

I always buy a new one right around the holidays regardless. I play on them really hard and they definitely see some rage abuse. Usually in a years time the buttons are somewhat sticking and that annoys the heck out of me.
