how long does it take to get da red ring of death?

I only play my xbox like once every 2 days but i plan on being on for ike- the next 3 days. And i was wonder:

1. About how long does it take to get the red ring of death?

2. How long should i play my xbox and then let it cool down before i play again?

It gets there WHEN IT GETS THERE!!!

Enjoy the 360 man, I've learned to not worry about the RROD and just enjoy it. I've had mine since Sunday and I absolutely love and and am addicted to my games. It's very very worth the purchase especially if you got some buddies to play with since many games have co-op modes that I have played.

Wait, you already have one, lol. Don't worry, it's free and microsoft has your back for 3 years from the purchase date.

1. took me 1 and a half years.

2. I've had 12 hours sessions without issues

I did the towel trick last night and it worked...played around an hour or so and no issues yet.

It could happen any time but its not like its always going to happen

You shouldnt have to worry too much .. i know people that play their xbox 5+ hours a day every day with no problems

Yeah that was like me and my 360 lasted for a year and a half and then died.

As I understand it, leaving it on accidentally isn't going to hurt anything, because it overheats when the processor is working hard for extended periods of time.

Same goes for the people that try to tell you "OMGORZ DONT WATCH TEH DVDZ IN TEH XBAWX!! ULL GET RROD AND IT WILL ASPLODE!!"... DVDs use no processing power, it's not going to hurt a thing.

On the other hand, if you're playing OblIVion or Dead Rising for hours and hours it's going to get pretty darn hot.
