I'm interested in possibly getting an xbox 360 by the end of 2007. I was just wondering how many years the xbox 360 will last before a new xbox comes out. Do you guys think the xbox 360 will still be around and strong in 4-5 years?
Hopefully, in my opinion I think it can last even more than 4-5 years. It's been out for about 1 year and 6 months, roughly. If it had a 5 year limit than there is still 3 years and 6 months to go. That is a long time from now, but seeing as you plan on getting one in December lets say there will be about 3 years or so. But thats if Microsoft has like this 5 year limit on there system which I don't think so, so don't take my word only though. It could very well last up to 10 years!
its got a while, probably 4 years or more. They haven't even talked about making a new one yet. Once they say the name of the new one its normally about a year and a half. And besides, with the rumors going around of a portable xbox it may be a while before we see the next one. Also im sure they dont want to get to releasing to far ahead of their opponents.
Average console life is like 5 - 6 years or whatever, and I don't see this turning into a Dreamcast clone, so yeah... if they keep pushing out an "updated" new system every year or so though I'm going to punt a gnome.

I honestly dont think we will hear word about a next microsoft gaming system until 2009 or 2010, and then Im gonna guess they will so it off at E3 2011 with some games, and then it will be out Q4 of 2011. But however i have no way of knowing if thats true so dont take my word for it.
The 360 will probably be around for 3-4 more years because until then, the technology to build a better xbox system is either non existant or too expensive.
