I never saw a real point to buying a game when you could rent it and most of the time its a good idea that'll stop you from buying a game that you could easily beat in a day or so.
I only have 3 that I keep constantly... mainly some sports games for me and my friends. But I've probably owned a lot more. I like to trade in. Gotta get that skrilla! (And I have like 8 XBLA games.)
I had over 25 games, but I did some Spring, er...Summer cleaning, and now I'm left with Chromehounds, Two Worlds: Collectors Edition, and BioShock. I sold Oblivion because I will be buying the GOTY edition, and I didn't touch my other games for a long time, so I sold them in preparation for the Fall lineup.
I have three right now, GoW, Forza 2 and Madden 07. The most I have ever had at one time is 5, and I have bought like...7-8 altogether. I trade in my games a lot to get store credit, saves you money.
6 games - Gears of War, Crackdown, Dead Rising, Battlefield 2 :MC, Splinter Cell DA and Just Cause but I've pre-ordered Halo 3 and I'm planning on getting Army of Two and Assassins Creed whenever they come out.
i got 12. renting doesnt work for me because i like to take my time playing a game. and i only enjoy playing games like splinter cell or condemned during the night for example.
