I am going to be on my 4th xbox in seemingly as many months. I have had the flashing lights, screen just freezing, and lastly the drive wont open. I love this system but come on, how much do we have to go through to love it?
0 I still havent gotten one yet x_x haha but anyways I kno tons of people with 360s and theyve never had problems with theirs so idk why everyone on GS has problems with them...btw Im not sayin I kno like 5 people with 360s Im talkin about more like 60 at least
I am on my first one still and I got it on the second shipment in december 05. My power suppy just went bad and it went bad because I have a faulty interact cooler. I bought a new power supply and it went bad when I hooked up the interact. What I did was buy a usb powered computer fan and I am taping it to the side of my xbox where the vent is. Although I believe the interact is bad, I firmly believe that you need to have additional cooling on the system (it gets too hot and I think its just a bad design). When I had the interact cooler working the system ran like a champ never freezing or anything. Right now its going to cost me 100 bucks for a new power supply. I am taking the old one back for a refund.
Word of advice....avoid the cooling system that hooks directly to the power supply.
Oh my gosh im thinking about buying a 360. So many of you guys had to buy more then 1 xbox :cry: Also all my friends who have 360's have it least gone more then 1. I mean I don't hear much about ps3's getting broken.
damn theres alot of u that been on 3rd or 4th system, dont u think MS should have some sort of a warrantte, so that if it breaks down that bad, u guys can exchange it?
I'm on my first still, had it since launch and have played it a ton. Works great. I think eventually I might get a newer model since mine is quite loud sometimes but luckily it doesn't have any heating issues. Only problem is the loudness and the level of tolerance changes from person to person so its just a personal annoyance. Loud music/sound changes that easily.
Im on my 3rd "repaired" console from MS. Too bad they dont repair your console, they just send you a refurbished console.... I had a core 360 when I bought one at launch and I got one back with the chrome drive... I dont like the chrome :evil:
still on my first one. Had a scare with a powerfailure one time tho, after the power came back i had 3 red lights and the power light in the middle blinkin. But just turned it off and back on and it worked fine. Ive also never had any problems with overheating, even playing oblivion 36+hours

Duh, how could we forget about the included 1 YEAR WARRANTY that everyone uses to replace their consoles with. :roll:
Didn't this week's "THE LAST WORD" mention something about new fans or coolers? I don't have a 360 (yet!), so I wasn't sure what they were talking about. Were they talking about faulty drives/power?
MY Ps2 has been sitting inside an entertainment hub for 6 years and other than one opening an cleaning it has run like a dream. I understand that the 360 needs to breathe but what a design flaw... You should be able to put a 360 inside an entertainment as long as you give it some room to air out. I will probably end up getting a 360 but wont put it in an entertainment center that does not have space to vent it out.
I'm on my second one...first one didnt even make it out of the box, had a huge 2 inch crack accross the top of the console...so I packed it back up and took it back to get replaced. Now last night I got the E 68 error when I started it up, shut it off then rebooted it works fine now, but If I get another error, I wil be on my way to get console #3.
