How many inches is your TV?

Just finally got an LCD tv, its arriving in a couple of days.

Its a 40 inches, 720p.

On a side note, I got two questions to know if the salesman I was dealing with was screwing me.

Does the Xbox360 Elite display a more high definition picture than a normal Xbox360? I always thought that the only difference was the color and hard drive.

He also told me that only the ps3 can take advantage of full 1080p, he said the 360 can only display 720p, hence the reason I decided to go with 720p instead of 1080p.

I don't even think any of them actually use 1080p, they just scale up from 1080i, but as far as i'm aware, the salesman is wrong.

Then again i'm on a 32" Trinitron so.. yeah I don't know loads about HD. The elite however has a larger HD, HDMI port and it's black. Pro comes with HDMI port too now.

whoever you spoke to is an idiot. the 360 elite has HDMI output therefore giving you the option for 1080p.

anyways, i have a 46" at 1080p.

The 360 doesn't actually render anything in 1080p though. It's internally rendered at 720p (or less in many cases like Halo 3) and scaled to 1080p. The PS3 actually has a weaker GPU (equivalent to a Geforce 7800) so many of its games are rendered at even lower resolutions and then scaled.

My point is that you don't need anything better than a 720p tv to experience the 360 in its full glory.
