Im talking about the RROD and the New live problem?I myself have had a 360 almost 2 years and no problems at all aside from freezing every once in a while(maybe once every month or so).I also have never had any of the recent problems with xbox live.I get on every time and COD4 works great as well as Halo 3.Im just wondering what the ratio is of people with good luck versus what seems like everyone else...

Ya i knew i cant be the only one without problems...Everyone seems to have issues.I know the old saying(Have a good experience and you tell 3 people...Have a bad experience and you tell 30 people)I am the only one i work with who has not had to have there system replaced as well.Thats about 1 out of 4 that have 360's
never heard of that saying, but I feel how true that is; of course, that's partially cause people telling good things to other make them come off as arrogant
I've never had the RRoD and I've had my system since launch. I have had some of the issues with Live like being randomly disconnected, and sometimes not being able to log in, but I don't play online all that much so I haven't really been negatively affected so far.
Never had any problems whatsoever. That doesn't include the 2 times it freezed since i got it on release day, but they were both with Oblivion, so it was understandable.
I've had the RROD once and I have had some problems with live like taking ten minutes to find a match and getting booted out of matches for no reason but with my luck thats probably just me
Launch system got insanely loud and was replaced free under a ebgames extended warranty at 11 months.
The replacement went a year and got RROD and was replaced free. Still works with a occasional freeze.
I bought a core unit 3 months after launch for another room and it RROD after a year and was replaced free, the replacement is louder than the core was and has odd quirks every now and then, I lose sound sometimes.
I had a HD-DVD player for 8 months and it started to scream when i would put a disc in and was replaced free under the factory MS warranty.
So all in all everything was replaced free so all is good. MS stands by their product even though it breaks often they take care of you and that is what counts.
i got mine on launch day and havent really jhad a single problem. its probably frozen, 7 times in those 2 years+ . i was wondering, if my console were now to break, could i contact microsoft for a replacement? and if i did, would they then HAVE to send a newer model, including the HDMI port? i still feel a little hard done by to be one of the first owners, with no HDMI or new chips in the console.
no RROD and had a easy time of it during the problem window! had one day where i only managed 2 games of halo in an hour, both of which had everyone with red lag coenction but asides from that, can not complain :)
yeah i haven't had any problems had it about 2 yrs and a half now though it's starting to act up thankfully i have a warranty on it so i'm just gonna send it in soon
Well when I brought my first Xbox home, it didn't work because it had a harddrive error and I tried fixing it but was unsuccessful, replaced it that day and that one worked for 4 days, and then it got the RRoD, I returned that one and brought the replacement home which had the same Harddrive error as my first one, and then I returned that one the next day for the one that I still have now. 4 Xboxs in basically a week... wasn't happy. However mines never frozen and to this day I'm still glad that I stuck with the Xbox and didn't get a refund :D
Got a core system when they first came out,the worst thing you could ever do for ANY SYSTEM IMO,but guess i lucked out & never had any problems to date.
no matter how much testing they do,until its out in the real world you just never know what might pop up. look at both the PS 1 & 2,both were total garbage & sony would never dream of fixing them let alone for free or god forbid admit their was ever a problem. I used to work at a video games store & we had a guy who would try & fix them & they were piled up to the ceiling,the ratio of PS 1's & 2's to the original xbox was like 1000 to 1 !. but the scariest thing was you never heard a thing about it,nobody ever said a word LOL!,they were like zombies controlled by Sony,if it couldn't be fixed they'd just buy another one without a word,unreal.
